Take your medicine: the future of pharmaceutical supply chains

In this Research Horizons article Dr Jag Srai, Head of the IfM's Centre for International Manufacturing, explains how a whole raft of scientific and technological advances are revolutionising all aspects of the pharmaceutical supply chain, from how a pill is made to the moment it is swallowed by the patient. 

 

Dr Srai is the Research Director for REMEDIES, a major UK industry and government-funded project looking at how pharmaceutical supply chains can be transformed to deliver better patient care. The CIM team is also part of the Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC) Future Manufacturing Research Hub based at Strathclyde University.
