Dr Belinda Clarke
Belinda is currently Director of Agri-Tech East. She is working with the Centre for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy within IfM to understand better how the public sector interventions contribute to industry growth and how this can be applied in a practical context to clusters.
Belinda was formerly Lead Technologist for synthetic biology within the Technology Strategy Board, and prior to that Director of Innovation Ecosystems at ideaSpace Enterprise Accelerator. She has also been Life Sciences Manager for the health and life sciences sector in the East of England on behalf of the East of England Development Agency; the regional International Trade Advisor in biotech and pharma for UK Trade and Investment; as well as running Norwich Research Park Science to facilitate academic-industry relationships at the Norwich Research Park.
Her first degree was in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and her PhD was awarded from the John Innes Centre through the University of East Anglia.
She is a Fellow of the Society of Biology and a Chartered Biologist, as well as a qualified business coach. She holds two Board positions and founded her own company in 2012.
