Industrial visits

In a typical year, students visit around 40 companies that range in size. These cover all industrial sectors, such as: aerospace, automotive, beverage, chemical, conusmer products, defence, electronics, energy, food, healthcare, measurement systems, metals, pharmaceuticals and textiles.

Visits are structured to focus on key themes. The students develop critical observation skills which will help them reflect on the taught components of the course. They will become adept at identifying different cultural issues, assessing their strengths and weaknesses and at looking for opportunities where improvements can be made.

A typical visit will include:

  • Presentation by the company: covering its history, market, strategy and operations
  • Factory tour
  • Question and answer session with the company management.
