Facilities

Parking and transport facilities

The new building at West Cambridge has:

  • Covered cycle spaces;
  • Parking spaces (with some limitations);
  • A regular bus service (the C4/Uni 4 every 10 minutes to Silver Street)
  • Shower facilities and a drying room;

Car Parking at West Cambridge

Staff with permits and IfM visitors may use the 'Manufacturing' Car Park which is to the right of the IfM Alan Reece Building as you face it from the road.  The IfM has also been allocated use of 2 disabled parking places - if this is required, please ask reception for further details.

Parking is available for visitors to the IfM building.  Visitor permits are managed by the IfM reception and should be booked in advance by contacting IfM reception (email:  ifm-reception@eng.cam.ac.uk).

The Cambridge Cycling Campaign have a Journey Planner tool which works out the fastest or quietest cycle routes between points in Cambridge. It gives the basic route directions but also has a facility which shows pictures of each section of the journey. The link below gives directions from Market Square to the Alan Reece building but you can change the locations to suit you:
