The common room and stairways

The building is designed to promote interaction between academics, industrialists and students. A large open-plan communal area provides a natural meeting place at the heart of the building, reinforcing the collaborative, integrated ethos of the IfM.

An open-plan office

Staff and students will be accommodated in light, naturally ventilated open-plan spaces. Broad access routes and good ceiling heights will provide a sense of space, while the design of the ceiling, finishes and furnishings will serve to minimise noise. Quick and easy access to central Cambridge will be available along the nearby cycle path.
