EPSRC UK-Japan Workshop in Industrial Sustainability


Introduction

In January 2011, a team of industrially orientated academics with interests in manufacturing and/or sustainability and a senior officer from EPSRC, visited Japan with the aim to -

  • Share experience and expertise in the field of education and research toward industrial sustainability
  • Identify current education and research best practices and industrial needs
  • Identify opportunities for collaborative projects between UK and Japan.

A three-day program (See itinerary) including national funding bodies, industrial speakers and academics was constructed in collaboration with EPSRC and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The findings have been presented in a

  1. Report on the UK Japan industrial sustainability study and workshop
  2. A workshop hosted on 22nd of July in London

UK Workshop

The workshop aimed to share the findings of the study visit to Japan and identify shared interests and actions to be taken forward. The presentations from the workshop can be found here.
