MPhil and PhD |
Research Degrees in ManufacturingWhat After the PhD?So what will you have achieved after a three year PhD? You are likely to have built practical business skills from working with companies and a knowledge of how to do management research. In addition you will probably have published papers at conferences and in journals. There can be other deliverables, for example a recent student has created teaching videos (sponsored by EurOMA) and published his research in a management workbook (sponsored by the DTI). Students that have completed a PhD in the IfM have found that rather than narrowing their opportunities, as some PhDs may do, the experience has broadened them. These students have found their skills highly valued by various organisations and have been offered good positions in industry, academia or consultancy. |
