Dr Sirirat LimCurrentSirirat works as an Associate Research Fellow with the Commerce Development Research Institute, a think tank set up by the Department of Commerce of the Ministry of Economics Affairs of the Taiwanese government. She is specialising in innovation and entrepreneurship policies. Academic interestsSirirat studied strategies adopted by technology driven start-up companies in the UK. Her project examined the key tasks undertaken, the managerial challenges facing these companies and the successful strategies for coping with the challenges. The aim of the project was to provide direct insights into the content of UK start-ups' manufacturing strategy. Sirirat was also a Research Assistant for a project in IMRC Emerging Industries Programme. The project "Manufacturing strategy for start-ups" aimed to develop a strategy formulating framework and implementation process to support start-ups in emerging industries in developing and implementing their manufacturing activities. BackgroundSirirat, from Malaysia was here for one year from October 2003 on a Chevening scholarship to work with Ken Platts in the Centre for Strategy and Performance. She then returned to research for a PhD under the supervision of Ken Platts and with Tim Minshall as advisor. ProfessionalMore than 10 years work experience in corporate strategic planning, product development, marketing, entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises, teaching and research, business education and training.
