Ornella BenedettiniOrnella Benedettini is a lecturer of Industrial Mechanical Plants at the Polytecnic University of Bari, Italy. She is a usual visitor of the Manufacturing Department at Cranfield University, and has been appointed fellow of the university since 2008. Her research is currently focusing on technology and business model innovations that can support manufacturers in moving from pure products to product-service systems. Ornella is visiting the IfM from 1st September to 31 December 2009. She is working with prof. Andy Neely on exploring the service paradox, namely the fact that manufacturing firms that reorient themselves towards services are more likely to go bankrupt rather than firms which do not adopt service-based strategies. |
