Background

Ninghua Song joined the Centre for Strategy and Performance in 2004 to study for a PhD, after winning a Cambridge Trust Scholarship, an Engineering Award and an award from the Overseas Research Students' Award Scheme (ORSAS). She got her Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Economics and Master's Degree in Management Science & Engineering, both from Tianjin University, China. Dr Ken Platts was her PhD supervisor. Song is also a member of St. Catharine's College.

Research Project

Song's research was focused on the topic of "total cost modeling of global outsourcing/sourcing". Companies with experience of global sourcing or with plans for global sourcing are welcome to contact for collaboration. She submitted her PhD thesis in 2008.

Current work

Ninghua now works for McKinsey & Company, Inc., in Germany
