Background

Marcel joined the IfM in 2004 as a part time senior research associate after an initial spell as a visiting scholar in 2002. Currently Marcel is CEO at the AO Foundation in Davos/Zurich, a medically guided global non-profit organization dedicated to improving patient care by fostering & expanding an interdisciplinary network of currently more than 15,000 healthcare professionals in research, development, clinical investigation, & education specialised in the treatment of trauma & disorders of the musculoskeletal system; Marcel is also founded Dissel Ltd.(GB) and later Dissel GmbH (CH) – a consultancy company providing business consultancy, interim management and training services. Furthermore he is a senior partner at PRO4S and non-executive director of AND Technology Research. He holds lectureships at the Leiden Insitute of Advanced Computer Science, Tiasnimbas Business School and Steinbeis University. Marcel holds an MSc in business administration from the Rotterdam School of Management, and a PhD (Dr.-Ing summa cum laude) in technology and innovation management from the aerospace faculty of the University Bw Munich.
