John ArcherBackgroundJohn is a very experienced manufacturing consultant with a deep understanding of most business processes. Prior to joining the PA Consulting Group in 1982 he held management roles in heavy engineering and automotive companies. In PA he helped establish their very successful Manufacturing Practice, eventually joining the firm's Management Group and reaching Senior Partner level. During the first 22 years he worked with many of the world's largest companies, particularly in the automotive, electronics and aerospace sectors. Starting in Operations and Supply Chain management he moved into more strategic and technology related activities in later years. Between 2004 and 2008 he continued to work part time for PA on a series of small local projects. He has a First Class degree in Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer, a European Engineer and a member of both the IMechE and IET Current roleJohn joined IfM in November 2008 (on a part-time basis) and is keen to help disseminate IfM research outputs to a wider industrial marketplace. He focuses primarily on strategic, technology and design related projects. |
