Dr Howard HarrisHoward Harris is on sabbatical from the University of South Australia in Adelaide where he teaches in the School of Management. He main research interest is in the role of courage and other virtues in contemporary management. He will be working with Jim Platts on management philosophy and leadership. He will be here until the end of June 2007. BackgroundHoward graduated in chemical engineering and worked for a large Australian multi-national in the Fiji Islands, Sydney and Adelaide, mainly in personnel/HRM and corporate planning roles. After the petroleum unit in which he was working was taken over by Exxon he became a principal in a small consulting practice, working in corporate strategy and corporate finance, mainly with SMEs. He returned to university to underatke a PhD in applied philosophy, studying the role of courage in management decision making. Recent appointments
Howard teaches International Management Ethics & Values in the undergraduate management degree to students in Adelaide, Singapore and Hong Kong. Research interests
