Dr David MorganInterestsIn 2008 David became involved in the development of a paper "Towards a sustainable industrial system - with recommendations for education, research, industry and policy" (http://www.ifm.eng.cam.ac.uk/sis/) which was launched in September 2009. In 2010 David is now involved in following up on the recommendations of the report. Taking inputs from those who are active in industrial practice, policy, research and education, the aim is to identify the key contributions that manufacturing academics (through education and research) can make towards the following questions:
Doctoral ResearchDavid has recently completed his research into alternate methods of processing a difficult to handle polymer waste stream. The project investigated the processing of thermally sensitive and mixed materials into a potentially useful form, and identifying possible applications for the resultant materials. |
