Dr Andrew CockburnResearch interestAndrew's research centres around materials characterisation and analysis in support of the various laser processing technologies being developed within the group, with a particular interest in the laser assisted cold spray (LCS) powder deposition technique. Research projectsBackgroundDr Andrew Cockburn joined the Institute for Manufacturing in June 2007. Andrew gained an MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge before studying for a PhD in the Materials Science and Metallurgy department focusing on the processing and properties of porous metal systems.
