Sir Michael Marshall unveils new Gallery at IfM

A new gallery of images featuring the Marshall Group of companies has been unveiled at the IfM.

The Marshall Gallery is in recognition of a generous donation made by the Marshall Group to the IfM’s fund for its new building on the university's West Cambridge Site. Professor Sir Mike Gregory, Head of the IfM, said the opening of the gallery captured the continuing close relationship between the two Cambridge organisations.

The Gallery was officially unveiled by Sir Michael Marshall, Chairman of the Marshall Group. It depicts several highly acclaimed manufacturing achievements such as Concorde’s famous ‘droop nose’ designed and built in the 1970s by Marshall Aerospace and work underway in Marshall Aerospace hangars and the Marshall Land Systems hangars.

The opening was attended by around 60 people including local companies and representatives of the IfM and Marshall Group. The gallery images were taken by photographer Alan Davidson.
