MET: Application and selection

Engineering students apply through COMET in early May. The course is also open to Chemical Engineering students who can find out how to apply by emailing:
met-enquiries@eng.cam.ac.uk.

Whether you are an Engineering or a Chemical Engineering student you should complete the MET application form if you wish to be considered for the course - this does not tie your hands in any way!

Selection is based on interview, a reference from the Director of Studies, and academic record. The course requires the ability to apply engineering principles in a business context. The qualities sought include enthusiasm and drive, communication skills, organisational ability, leadership potential, team-working and inter-personal skills, ability to work to tight deadlines, and a real interest in manufacturing engineering.

There will be an MET Open Day here at the IfM on Wednesday 9th May at 1-4 PM  for 1B students where there will be staff and students available to answer any queries, as well as a tour of the building/facilities and refreshments.

Try the elective topic "Manufacturing, Management and Design - Bring Technology Innovations to Market", run by Tim Minshall of the IfM.
