Design Knowledge Transfer

The aim of this research is to explore the patterns of knowledge interaction between design academics and academics in other disciplines, and between design academics and industry. In particular, this research tries to compare the patterns of design academics knowledge interactions with those of academics in other disciplines. Most existing research on university knowledge transfer only focuses on knowledge interactions between university and industry. This research challenges this skewed research perspective. Academics have knowledge interactions with firms, but also with academics in other disciplines. In order to understand the holistic knowledge interaction of academics, we need to explore both kinds of knowledge interaction.
