Product case historiesThe products featured on this list are chosen because they demonstrate one or more characteristics which assist in the analysis of modern innovation and new product introduction (NPI) processes. A key feature of the modern innovation process is the way in which responsibility is often distributed throughout the value chain with branding, product vision, technology development, product development, manufacturing and distribution spread across several independent firms where previously these activities would all have been carried out in-house. This increases the challenge for innovating firms who must find ways to capture the value from their innovations in a sustained manner.
