IfM's Education and Consultancy Services are able to offer practitioner support to assist individual companies to develop appropriate skills and to evaluate current practices and accelerate the adoption of Open Innovation (OI).

  • Open Innovation Practice Assessment, one-day workshop with up to 8 relevant managers / specialists
  • Based on Practice Maturity Assessment evolved from over 5 years of IfM research
  • IfM workshop facilitation and interpretation of results to develop action plan
  • Guidance on best practice and pitfalls

Open Innovation practice development

  • Assistance from IfM experts in the development of new competences and capabilities based on IfM research and tools
  • Projects conducted with individual members against tailored proposals
  • Focus on developing skills and approaches to embed know-how in the organisation

Identification and capturing Open Innovation wants and needs

  • A structured and repeatable approach to target OI activities
  • Using IfM’s well-regarded roadmapping approach to identify needs and priorities between technology / product / business areas
  • Supported by a Make-or-Buy evaluation to understand preferred acquisition philosophy (In-house, Buy or Open Innovation)
  • Capturing needs in appropriate terms (eg. with outcome-oriented, maintaining confidentiality, protecting intellectual property etc)
