Cambridge International Manufacturing Symposium
EnquiriesJo Griffiths |
International Manufacturing Symposium 2011 and 2012In July 2011, the University of Cambridge is hosting this year’s EurOMA conference, the largest academic conference in Europe in Operations Management, co-hosted by the IfM and the Judge Business School. As many of our usual attendees to the CIM Symposium will be with us during the EurOMA conference, and the inevitable overlap in subjects and delegates, we have decided not to hold our International Manufacturing Symposium in September 2011 but rather focus on specific invitation only workshops to support key elements of our Symposium agenda. International Manufacturing Symposium 2012The 2012 Symposium will take place on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 September 2012 at the Møller Centre, Cambridge. Further information will be available shortly. 2011 Workshops – September and November 2011Academic Publication Workshops – 22 and 23 September 2011The academic workshops on 22 and 23 September 2011 will target the publication of a book on ‘International Manufacturing – Design and Operation’ (to be submitted to Cambridge University Press) and inputs to Special Issue Journals (IJOPM, IJMTM, IJPD) on selected topic areas to support a subsequent ‘open call’ for 2012 publication. Information on the International Journal of Manufacturing Technology and Management (IJMTM) special issue on: "Supply Network Evolution in Emerging Industries" is now available on the publishers website ( http://www.inderscience.com/browse/callpaper.php?callID=1693) Information on the International Journal of Product Development (IJPD) special issue on: "International Engineering Operations" is now available on the publishers website ( http://www.inderscience.com/browse/callpaper.php?callID=1692) Practitioner Workshop – 2 and 3 November 2011The practitioner workshop in Cambridge on Thursday 3 November 2011 (with a preceding dinner on the evening of Wednesday 2 November) is aimed at senior industrial practitioners actively working in the area of global manufacturing and supply network optimisation. 2011 workshops will be invitation only to develop key topic areas, for which a nominal charge will be made to cover costs.
