Events and coursesCambridge International Manufacturing Symposium 2012"Capturing Value in International Manufacturing and Supply Networks - new models for a changing world" 20 and 21 September 2012, Møller Centre, Cambridge Information and call for papers Manufacturing Mobility: Setting up manufacturing operations abroadThe workshop will be based around proven, structured approaches developed by the Centre for International Manufacturing and published in the form of two workbooks: Manufacturing Mobility and Fitness for Transfer. The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Don Fleet from the Centre for International Manufacturing. Making it in China: Operating a successful supply chain in ChinaThis workshop allows delegates to learn from each other’s experiences and to hear the latest research from the University and organisations with an interest in China. It will focus on case studies by companies with experience of China. Also at the workshop, there are presentations from CIm about recent study missions relating to China. At the end of the workshop there is an open forum discussion to allow some of the key themes to be discussed in greater depth. Please email ifm-events@eng.cam.ac.uk to register your interest. Recent past eventsThe academic workshops on 22 and 23 September 2011 will target the publication of a book on ‘International Manufacturing – Design and Operation’ (to be submitted to Cambridge University Press) and inputs to Special Issue Journals (IJOPM, IJMTM, IJPD) on selected topic areas to support a subsequent ‘open call’ for 2012 publication. Practitioner Workshop - 2 and 3 November 2011The practitioner workshop in Cambridge on Thursday 3 November 2011 (with a preceding dinner on the evening of Wednesday 2 November) is aimed at senior industrial practitioners actively working in the area of global manufacturing and supply network optimisation. EurOMA 2011The 18th International Annual EurOMA Conference returned to Cambridge from 3 – 6 July 2011. The conference was first held in Cambridge in 1994, when around 140 people joined together for the first time to discuss "Operations strategy and performance". The 2011 conference was preceded by the EurOMA Doctoral Seminar on 1 and 2 July and the Young Scholars Workshop on 3 July. The conference was hosted by the Judge Business School and the Institute for Manufacturing at Cambridge University. EurOMA conferences have a long standing tradition of critical discussion and drive for quality research in an open and friendly atmosphere. Social events were planned to allow the blending of networking among participants and the exploration of the beautiful city of Cambridge. http://www.euroma2011.org |
